We are excited to present this afternoon of simulator training for the insertion of percutaneous spinal cord stimulators at the Exam Schools, Oxford on 10 November 2017, 12.00hrs-17.30hrs, just before the NSUKI Annual Scientific Meeting. The course will consist of lectures covering mechanisms of action of SCS as well as indications and evidence for SCS. The simulator allows practise of SCS insertion as well as ‘difficult scenarios’. This course is aimed at senior trainees, fellows or consultants aiming to set-up a neuromodulation practice.

12:45 – 13:30 - Talks (Mechanism of Action of SCS, Indications and evidence, each 20 mins)

13:30 – 15:15 - Training Sessions

Group 1 (+/-2) – Simulator Session (there are 5 settings on the simulator, basic implant, scoliosis, lumbar fusion, obstacle course and patient feedback).  

Group 2/3 – Understanding Programming Options.

15:15 – 15:30 – TEA/COFFEE BREAK

15:30 – 17:30 – Groups Rotate

17:30 - CLOSE OF DAY
